Guidance & College Prep
The purpose of our Guidance Department is twofold: First, to work with our students in the academic area and assist them to be successful in the most challenging courses they are capable of handling, and to help them explore career options. We also help them interpret the scores from the various standardized tests they take while here at Lourdes (SAT, PLAN, ETC.). All of our students are seen regularly by the counselors indicated below. During senior year we work closely with our graduating class to guide them in their college choices.
Secondly, we are available as counselors to help our students cope with personal problems. In both of these areas we strive to work closely with families.
Parents and guardians are invited to contact guidance counselors directly if they have particular questions or concerns regarding their sons or daughters. If there are problems in an academic area, we urge parents to first speak with the subject teacher.

Special emphasis is placed on alcohol and drug abuse prevention. Meeting with the ADAPP representative is completely voluntary and always confidential. Referrals may be made by the student personally, by a teacher, or from our own guidance department. Additional information is available at www.adapp.org.
